NorthWest Arkansas Community College (NWACC) offers a unique pathway into the bicycle industry with its Bicycle Technician Program, a 32-week, two-semester training program designed to prepare students for careers as professional bicycle technicians. Developed in collaboration with the Bicycle Industry Employers Association and inspired by experts across the U.S., this program is tailored to meet the growing demand for skilled bicycle technicians in Northwest Arkansas and beyond.

The NWACC Bicycle Technician Program prepares students not only to service traditional bicycles but also to handle the latest technologies found in e-bikes and personal electric vehicles. The Bicycle Technician Program at NWACC covers all essential areas of bicycle service, with nine courses that address both the mechanical and electronic components of modern bikes. Upon completing the program, graduates earn a certificate that qualifies them to work in bike shops anywhere in the United States. However, the program also encourages graduates to stay in Northwest Arkansas, contributing to the region’s thriving bicycle culture and local economy.
