From program coordination to facilities management, Mount Sequoyah employs professionals across a range of departments.

Mount Sequoyah is more than a historic retreat and conference center. It's a community hub where creativity, connection and natural beauty come together. Located atop a ridge in Fayetteville, Arkansas, the Mount Sequoyah Center offers year-round programming in the arts, family engagement and recreation, while also hosting weddings, retreats and public events.
As Mount Sequoyah continues to expand its programming and impact, the organization is growing its team and inviting individuals of all ages to contribute to its legacy and future.

Originally founded as a spiritual retreat more than 100 years ago, Mount Sequoyah has evolved into a nonprofit center dedicated to enriching the cultural and community life of Northwest Arkansas. Its campus includes meeting and lodging spaces, an outdoor pool, wooded trails and event venues that serve a wide range of visitors—from summer campers to wedding guests.

The center is always finding new ways to activate its space through partnerships, programming and public events. That means there are plenty of opportunities for those interested in working in hospitality, programming, facilities and youth development.

Mount Sequoyah offers a mix of seasonal, part-time and full-time roles—making it a great place for students, early-career professionals or individuals looking for meaningful work in a community setting.

Entry-Level and Seasonal Roles

  • Camp Counselors and Lifeguards: These roles offer hands-on experience working with youth and families in an outdoor environment.
  • Swim Coaches and Activity Leaders: Ideal for individuals with coaching or recreation experience looking to make a direct impact.
  • Event and Facilities Support: Help set up and manage events and retreats, gaining experience in operations and guest services.

Volunteer Opportunities
Mount Sequoyah’s volunteer program welcomes participants as young as 12 years old. Volunteers gain early experience in leadership and community service, and many work their way into paid positions as counselors and seasonal staff.

Full-Time Staff Roles
From program coordination to facilities management, Mount Sequoyah employs professionals across a range of departments. Full-time staff are empowered to design and lead new initiatives—creating opportunities for personal growth and community impact.

A Culture of Creativity and Autonomy

What sets Mount Sequoyah apart is its culture. Staff are encouraged to bring their ideas to life and contribute to the center’s evolving programming. One employee proposed a “Movies on the Mountain” series, developed a plan to make it sustainable, and led the program from concept to execution. That kind of ownership and support is central to the employee experience at Mount Sequoyah.

The center offers a welcoming, collaborative environment where team members have the freedom to lead, learn and grow while making a real difference in the community.

Whether you’re looking for seasonal work, your first job in recreation or hospitality, or a long-term role in nonprofit programming, Mount Sequoyah offers a meaningful place to build your career.
